Pistol is being fostered in Pikeville, Tennessee. Please, fill out his application and a volunteer will contact you very soon.
Pistol is a one year old Louisiana Catahoula leopard dog. This sweet little boy had a very rough start in life and intern has developed a few issues, particularly when it comes to meeting new people. All of Pistols problems are rooted in fear, and while he is with his foster all of those issues are actively being worked on. Pistol is a very sweet and loyal dog that just needs a little time to warm up to guest that visit your home. He does NOT try to bite the guest but he will act nervous.  Guess what, we're already seeing that fearful behavior begin to DISAPEAR!  He's a fun loving puppy that probably was not socialized at a young age, but we have seen training transform dogs like Pistol. Pistol is enrolled in our Rescue and Rehab program and he's making amazing progress with his training.  While he's behaving and showing good manners, we still want to make sure his new family follows the training he's already started.

He is very energetic and would love a family that actively takes walks or hikes, or has a fenced in back yard. He would love a canine brother or sister, but he is not the biggest fan of cats. Pistol is also positive for heart worms, and is currently receiving treatment in his foster home but that would have to be continued once he is adopted.

Pistol needs a family who doesn't mind a active puppy, and someone who is patient and understanding with him. Pistol is very intelligent and would love a family who is willing to continue his training! We are providing his new adopters with free dog training to help with transitioning him smoothly.

HOPE and CHR is helping Pistol find a forever home in the area Pikeville Tennessee area. His application is at https://www.caringheartsrescue.org/application. Disregard any distance policy messages and continue to fill out the application. Thank you! HOPE and CHR
